Uptown Girl

During a recent New York trip, I had a day free, and spent it doing what entertains me most: shopping. I covered mid-town tourist schlock and downtown cool, and then booked it uptown to glory in the boutiques. Block after block of couture heaven. It’s all there: Valentino, Lanvin, Chanel, the works. And along the way, I noticed the most interesting thing: pass around 54th street, and out come the uptown ladies. You never see them anywhere else. What do they look like? The best cut clothing, even in jeans, and a terrific pair of heels. And of course the signature: a magnificent handbag. Hermes, Prada, Chanel. Mostly in a nude. These are the ladies who flawlessly wear cream. They spill out of crisp white restaurants on 68th and Madison and have perfected blonde hair. They leave a trail of French perfume and all have the most trained walk. Almost a swagger. Do I want to be an uptown lady? Sure I do. But only in downtown clothes. Deal?

About baciamille

I'm Alexia, Alex, Lexi or Lex, depending on who you are. I'm mom to Mia, Maxim and Milan, wife to Darian, the co-creator and CEO known as Fancy Pants at Vuka Energy Drinks. I'm a marathon running, triathlete, musician and writer, wanna be rock star, all time actress, creative, vocal and sometimes just a little crahayzy. I think that's all. One day I plan to spend most of my time on a boat in the Carribean. Oh, and baciamille means a thousand kisses in Italian. I don’t know any other words in Italian.

I definitely wouldn’t want to be one. Or even KNOW one. I much prefer reality, thankyouverymuch.
Glad you enjoyed your shopping though 🙂
